Conyers appoints its partner Norman Hau as the new Head of its Hong Kong Disputes and Restructuring Practice, effective 1 October 2024.

Norman will lead a team of 12 based in Hong Kong, the majority of whom are trilingual.

Norman was instrumental in the establishment of Conyers’s litigation and restructuring practice in Hong Kong. He joined Conyers as its first litigator based in Hong Kong in 2012. Prior to that he was with Holman Fenwick & Willan, Tanner De Witt and Freshfields.

Over the past decade, Norman has gained regional reputation as a leading offshore litigation lawyer in cross-border restructuring, insolvency and shareholders disputes. He is known for his strategic mindset, his profound understanding of the China market and trilingual ability. He has been consistently recognized and regarded as a leading individual by legal directories, including Legal 500, IFLR and Global Restructuring Review. He was named an “Asia Top Offshore Litigator” and included on the “Offshore Client Choice List” by Asian Legal Business multiple times. He has also been awarded “The A-List Top Offshore Lawyer” by Asia Business Law Journal.

Norman takes over the leadership role from Mark Yeadon who led the team over the last three years.
